Our Story
Specializing in antique reproduction and modern counted cross stitch samplers
Attic Needlework, established in 1980 in Mesa, Arizona, offers everything desired by the avid needleworker, including charts, magazines, and books, linen and other evenweaves, silk and cotton flosses, notions, and stitching gifts and collectibles. Over 200 framed samplers are exhibited to inspire our customers in our 4500 square-foot storefront. We carry the latest patterns for counted cross stitch, as well as exclusive charts from Samplers in My Attic, and many hard-to-find treasures. We also offer displays of Christmas, patriotic, Halloween, and primitive designs, as well as some Hardanger and punch needle.
Attic Needlework is famous for its silk conversions, with conversions offered for many popular patterns. Conversions from DMC or overdyed cottons to either standard, 100.3, or overdyed silks give the discerning needleworker numerous options for creating a beautiful heirloom, which will give pleasure to both the stitcher and the viewer. We also offer framing services with hundreds of choices of quality moldings to enhance the work you so lovingly created.
Our friendly and knowledgeable staff look forward to helping you with your next project. Please call us at 480-898-1838 or email us at [email protected] and allow us to assist you!
Remembering Jean Lea

Attic Needlework Owner for 30+ Years
There are no adequate words for a moment such as this. No matter how much time you have it never seems to be enough. A true pioneer and visionary in the world of needlework. Her love of fine linen and silk was easily shared with even the most timid of stitcher. She loved to nurture new stitchers and new designers alike. Always gracious and welcoming. Attic Needlework is her legacy. It was her passion… During Sampler Symposium earlier this month, she was released from the hospital just in time to join with over 230 stitchers from 6 countries and 3 continents! It made her heart so happy to be there! She loved you all so much. We love you, too, Jean. Our hearts are broken for a moment but we will find joy and comfort as we ply needle and thread. Stitches of healing…with fine linen and silk. Thank you all for your support and love.
