Mary Ann Buck was only 10 years old when she stitched her sampler which features flowers, birds, butterflies, a bright red house with blue roof, and the humorous image of a cow sneaking out of a gate. There are even 4 tiny dogs, a windmill, and an improbably large blue squirrel perched on the roof of the barn. We can only imagine that Mary Ann was inspired by her surroundings and was a perceptive little girl who enjoyed paying attention to the details in the world around her. You will find such details stitched over one in this sampler…birds, the roses, and the verse which reads:
Swift as the winged arrow flies
My time is hastening on
Quick as the lightening from the skies
My wasting moments run.
My follies past O God forgive
My ev’ry sin subdue
And teach me henceforth how to live
With glory in my view.

Linen Choices: 36, 40, 46, or 56 ct. The linens being used are Muddy Duck from Tabby Cat and a similarly colored linen from Mason linens and Seraphim (Bees Knees). Please let us choose. You will receive a stitcher’s quarter, for between $39 and $45.. 46 and 56 counts will require an eighth.
